Lately there has been alot of commercial real estate action driven by the local MMJ industry.
There are two factors driving the increase in activity:
1. Several centers received letters from the Federal Gov saying they were within 1,000 feet of a school and they had two options. Move or close.
2. Centers are allowed to move their location as long as they have full licensure and the new location is approved by the city. The license process has been horribly backed up, but licenses are now begining to trickle down to operators.
So where are these guys moving? Zoning requirements are tight for retail centers outside of the C-5 and C-6 catagories.
What I am seeing is retail stores moving to Fillmore and Platte. Weak stores with full licenses are selling themselves to stronger operators who can now move them to better locations.
